  • The Privacy Act 2020 (NZ) and the Information Privacy Principles (IPPs) contained in that Act.

By using the Match-Up website and related services (our “Services”), you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

Match-Up is the operator of this website and is the entity responsible for your personal information. If you have any questions or concerns about this policy or how we handle your personal information, please contact us using the details in Section 14.

For the purposes of New Zealand law, Match-Up acts as an “agency” as defined under the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ).

For New Zealand users: Where we transfer personal information outside New Zealand, we take reasonable steps to ensure the receiving country or organisation provides comparable protections to those required under the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ), in accordance with Principle 12.

By using our Services, you acknowledge that your personal information may be transferred internationally as described above.

8. Accuracy and Quality of Personal Information

We take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we collect, use, and disclose is accurate, complete, and up to date. You can update your personal information at any time through your account settings. If you believe that information we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, please contact us using the details in Section 14.

We take the security of your personal information seriously and implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, and disclosure. These measures include:

No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. 11.1 Australian Users

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you (APP 12)
  • Request that we correct personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant, or misleading (APP 13)

We will respond to your access or correction request within a reasonable time. We may charge a reasonable fee for providing access to your information where permitted by law. We may refuse access in limited circumstances permitted by the APPs, and if we do, we will explain the reasons in writing.

11.2 New Zealand Users

Under the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ), you have the right to:

  • Request access to personal information we hold about you (Principle 6)
  • Request correction of personal information that is inaccurate (Principle 7)

We will respond to your request within 20 working days, as required by the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ). We may refuse access or correction in circumstances permitted by the Act and will provide written reasons for any such refusal.

12. Sensitive Information

Some personal information you provide may be classified as “sensitive information” under Australian law or “sensitive personal information” under New Zealand law, such as information about your health, sexual orientation, religion, or ethnicity.

We will only collect sensitive information with your consent, or where otherwise permitted by law, and we will use and disclose it only for the purpose for which it was collected or for a directly related purpose.
